Surround Yourself with People Who...

Surround yourself with people who talk about visions, and ideas not other people.”- Akin Olokun

Ask yourself, do your people support the life you’re trying to build? Do they recognize your value? Do you they bring out the best and not the stress?

Surround yourself with people who bring you up, not weigh you down.

Do your coaches and teams push you to do your best? Do they listen and respect your limits? Do they support your goals?

Do your friends and family want the best for you? Do you laugh so much with them it hurts to breath? Do they give effort in your relationship? Do they love you or do they love what they can get from you?

Listen to the signs and red flags that flash from the people's actions and words. Focus on the people who you think of when you answer these questions with "YES".

My mindset towards life and my personal growth transformed once I purposely brought people in my life who challenged my thoughts, sought after my heart, and listened to my voice. I remember sitting at recess with my best friends in 4th grade and we were filling out our ambition and goals in one of those friendship books we bought at the book fair. All of them wrote, "Be a doctor", or "Become president", which now I realize the true blessing it is to have such a strong presence of supportive and ambitious people in my life. Those people in life with similar goals will push and support your hopes and dreams.

Bringing the Dare to LEAD Team together was difficult in trying to form a group of like-minded passionate people whose differences still complimented each other. I could barely keep it together during the interviews how driven, passionate, and genuine each individual was. They are a part of how inspired I feel everyday to create more, think more, work more, and give more. The team is only a small testament of the good people I try to surround myself with. Be selective with the people you choose to be in your life, everyone is there for a reason.

Surround yourself with people who... Dare to LEAD.
